Brass earrings
Two pairs of earrings milled from brass plate on the CNC, modelled in Fusion 360 by an agent working the software directly.
My wife found a pair of Hermès earrings she liked, linked ovals in horn and gold, and I wanted to see whether I could machine a version in brass.
I asked Astra to design the set in Fusion 360. It read the model through an MCP connector and drew the geometry and set the toolpaths in place, rather than telling me which menus to click. Four operations, one tool, a little over two hours of cutting for a nested pair in 2 mm brass.
Two shapes came out of it: the linked ovals of the original, and a ginkgo leaf drawn from scratch. The rings come off the plate, get filed and polished, and go together by hand.
