Apollo Odyssey
Apollo’s learning platform for GraphQL. I built a large part of the platform, shaped the curriculum, and taught courses on it.
Odyssey is where Apollo teaches GraphQL: free courses of short lessons, each one a video with its written counterpart, code challenges checked as you write them, quizzes, and a certification at the end of a track.
I built a large part of the platform and worked on the curriculum behind it: which courses exist, in what order, and what a developer should be able to build by the end of each. I taught several of them, including Lift-off I, the first course in the full-stack path and the one that leads to the Graph Developer Associate certification.
The catalogue has since grown past the original path: backend courses in TypeScript, Java, .NET and Python, federation, connectors over REST services, and lately MCP.
